Maynard of TOOL talks about the "Fan Incident"

SquidCap says...

You obviously have never performed and have some moron jump on stage where stumbling in the wrong pile of amps will cause thousands of euros worth of damage and possibly even dangering peoples lives. You come up on stage uninvited, be prepared to get slammed to the ground and thrown off the venue. The people on stage are there doing their job, you don't let people wonder in behind cash registers in a bank and expected a friendly treatment. You stumble on my stage and you will be flying back to the pit and i don't give a flying fuck if you hurt yourself. I've done it and will do it again and i'm the most docile person you can meet, i have never hit anyone in my life and i've worked as a bouncer...

This is totally different from situations where a fan is invited on stage or that part of performance is to get few people dancing there, then it's MY responsibility so you or others wont get hurt. Come uninvited and you are trespassing and a serious security threat and will be dealt with ASAP..

Oh poor babies. How dare a fan go up on stage. That's never happened before. His attitude about the whole thing and Rogan's stink. They are tools.

"Convenience Store" sketch from Kids in the Hall

SquidCap says...

I really should make my edited version of the series.. Cut out every single Scott Thompson gay monologue out. Not because i hate gays or Scott but having a 7 minute touching monologue in the middle of 20 minute comedy sketch show just does not work. Plus i hate the fake lisp, no matter if it's woman or man.

Daily Show - A "How To" on ridding a city of homelessness

SquidCap says...

You just call it Preemptive strike or Operation Storm something and label homelessness as terrorism threat. Allthou, once Halliburon gets their hands on that, the homes will costs a million each, do not have roof and construction lasts ten years.

North...to Alaska, for a White (less) Christmas

SquidCap says...

Last two winters in Finland have been pretty black. Freezing in the night in to solid ice, melting during the day. There was a tiny sliver of cold air that arrived just days before christmas so it's white now, expecting to melt away before new year. Makes cycling pretty much impossible, they haul gravel on to the pavements, it falls thru the melting ice only to get trapped in it when the night comes and you got clear, solid sheet of ice again in the morning. I have never seen so much gravel in the streets in the spring as i did last year. Good news is that -20C only happens for two, three week tops.

armored skeptic vs that megan fox

SquidCap says...

Just like laws of thermodynamics, they still hold even thou at the time, they didn't know exactly how it works... But for her, when a theory is first initiated, it has to have all the evidence before even an ounce of it can be stated as a fact. This is due to religions declaring that they have the ultimate truth, they are infallible, perfect. So if there is 9999 pieces of evidence that all point to one direction, one evidence is enough to denounce it.. You can't use the same logic against her as any mismatches that creationism has with reality is the work of god and as humans can not understand his intentions, you can't disprove it.

Learn Finnish With Sara

SquidCap says...

Heh, i live in Kokkola.. We are the neighboring town for Jakobstad and that's where Sara comes from She lived here for couple of years doing music studies.

Kokko is also an old word for an eagle and while Kokkola is understood now as "place for bonfires", it actually comes "place for eagles" as legend says that eagles liked to rest on the rock in the bay. "City that rose from the sea" is is accurate description as around 1200s there were only the exact hill i live on and one other places above the water.. In fact, there is still an old smugglers tunnel, less than 50m away from where i sit right now that leads to the old shoreline, maybe 200m long that was used in 1600s. The sea itself is now about 3-4km from here.

The good news is, i could sit here for a hundred years without fearing rising sea waters.. Not that i intend to but i could.

A-10 attacks taliban positions in Afghanistan

SquidCap says...

And they are phasing that model out.. A10 is simple and it works but nah, they want something hi-tech to keep the budget staggeringly high. It's like replacing every spoon in your house with robots that don't know what soup is.

Formula 1 Driver Kimi Räikkönen Cuts the Grass

SquidCap says...

He mostly hates the stupid questions reporter have to ask, the ones where the answer is already in the question. Or questions that have only one real answer without any speculation: "It is the same for everybody". Like asking about tires or weather.. Of course there is a reputation he got when he joined F1 and he is totally milking that.. He is not the only Finnish driver to do so, Kankkunen gave a beautiful answer once when asked about what tires he chose: "black round Pirellis" It is a bit of a tradition here. But when it comes to Kimi, if you make him comfortable, he is just a regular guy.
