Pastor: Why Blacks Blame Zimmerman

Raveni says...

Let's start with, he was found not guilty by reason of self-defense, not under Stand Your Ground...

Despite all you heard about it in the media, Stand Your Ground was not a defense raised at trial, and they did not even hold the pretrial motions to determine if the case could be dismissed based on that.

It's a totally different argument if you wanted to say if someone was entitled to self defense if they chased a teenager against advice, got into a fistfight, and thought it was okay to use deadly force when on the losing end.

What can I say?

He was adjudged not guilty under the Stand Your Ground law.

I don't see any holes in my logic.

Barrier 1-------Woman 0 - (Barrier Fail)

Raveni says...

It happens SO DAMN OFTEN in Florida, that there are now building codes, where we have to put FRIKKIN LASER sensors so that the arm stops and doesn't go down when people are dumb enough to stand directly below them.

It STILL DOESN'T STOP THEM from running into the damn things; it just stops them from coming straight down onto their heads.

Really? Where is the logic in that? I want to talk to one of these people.

I don't like the sarcasm button. If someone can recognize sarcasm, they get the point, if they can't they think I'm an asshole or doofus but I'm OK with it being lost of them. Labeling a post sarcasm is like popping your kids balloon she just got.

I'm going to go on with my day assuming that liquid on the ground is from the monkey pissing itself in terror and that it got up and walked it off after the camera was blocked at the end.

Very Rare Triple Play

Raveni says...

Well, it was officially scored as the first 4-6-5-6-5-3-4 triple play in Major League history, and the first triple play of any kind for the Yankees in 45 years, but it would have never happened without two awful base running decisions.

Are triple plays really that rare? This particular type of triple play must be rare, but I figure the "caught line drive, step on second, throw to first" or simply a force out on all 3 bases must happen occasionally.

Elevator Murder Experiment

I was assuming from the items and décor that these people were travelling home. You don't even need a CHL in Texas to carry a gun in that situation.

I'm from Texas, and consider it a perfectly reasonable response to shoot someone committing a violent crime with a melee weapon instead of walking up to them. Detain them? The cops can do that if he lives. They get paid to get within arms reach of ya-hoos who try to strangle people.

Not necessarily, Raveeeeni-Sensible people with concealed carry (what you'd have to have to legally carry a pistol into a public place) would detain them at gunpoint, pistol-whip them maybe.

Even if you assaulted them without a gun you'd be in trouble with the law considering how retarded laws are concerning such matters.

...someone from Delaware or New Hampshire might start shooting though, if they could find the "on" button on their pistol.

Elevator Murder Experiment

Raveni says...

Exactly... In Texas, the result would have been one or both of those actors getting shot. There is no way that someone with a gun would even step foot inside that elevator to figure out what was going on.
