Mitt Romney's speech: Faith in America

Raifim says...

You ignored my other points I see.

"If your going to bring up credible points, try doing it with a credible source. You keep citing things that are used by people who have the express intent, and purpose of dismantling the LDS church.

That's like citing all anti-semitic references for making a point about Jews. It's not accurate and it's garbage as far as any rational thinker should be concerned."

What I'm trying to get at is why do you take such an interest in something that you refer to as "man made ridiculous nonsense". Why concern yourself with it?

Your supporting "facts" are bias and poorly researched. You attack a faith you do not understand, and seek to lean about it by people who have a clear disdain for religion.

But perhaps I miss your point. Perhaps your not looking at understanding the Mormon faith, just trying to undermine it. As opposed to being fair and informative.

Mitt Romney's speech: Faith in America

Raifim says...

My Boss happens to be a Mormon. And having worked closely with the man I can say that I honestly think Mormons are more Christian then most Christians. I think the greatest amount of hatred for their church comes from their beliefs being closer to Judaism then popular Christianity.

Next to the Jews the Mormons are the only other religious sect that has had to endure being driven from their homes and persecuted, even to the point of death. If anything I would think people would be more sympathetic to a religion that has endured so much and is still growing faster then most Christian sects in the world today.

And qruel, you do not understand what separation of church and state means. It doesn't mean that no one in a political office should mention religion. What it means is that the church should not be involved, or allowed to influence the running of a government, as well as the government should not be allowed to dictate the administration of a religion.

And if your going to bring up credible points, try doing it with a credible source. You keep citing things that are used by people who have the express intent, and purpose of dismantling the LDS church.

I didn't think any of this was worth reading through. It's like watching little children argue over who gets to go down the slide next. I don't see why we can't all cut each other a little slack and not get so worked up about things. Lets show some civility towards one another.

Jesus Loves You (conditionally)

Raifim says...

I don't see why logic is upheld as the ultimate truth for atheists. There are many things in this life that do not make logical sense. Human actions do not always make logical sense. For an atheist to make uphold his position they would need to be completely logical. And seeing the comments of some atheists on this thread suggests that they themselves are illogical. Especially in their arguments. Anger and insults have no logical reasoning behind them. So why are they resorted too?

Ohhhh, this is good, are there more videos like this in a series? It's funny how we can become so distracted by everyday things we forget to meditate and deepen our inner thoughts. Great post!

Pep Talk for Americans

Raifim says...

There is nothing wrong with patriotism and love for ones country. I love my country and I love America. It is a wonderful land. I have opportunities here that I never could have had in Israel. I don't have to hear explosions every night or worry about which of my friend was killed last night.

Qualm you seem to have such disdain for something that, I'm sure, has made your life so much better. If you talked like that and you were a Palestinian you would have your head blown off.

My true loyalties are to Israel, but you cannot deny the influence that America has on the world. So many people would love to live in this country. It is my second home.

I would like to be invited to your collective. Would you please send me one? I know your people and mine have had their differences, I hope that I can contribute and show the respect I have for the Islamic faith.
