Who Owns Oregon? Some Historical Context
Good video, I would like to offer a correction: Portland - not the capital of Oregon.
George Lucas Explains Why He Had To Break Up With Star Wars
Wow...I'd seen all the headlines about this, purposefully avoided most Star Wars commentary as it seems pretty weakly considered and nearly always click-bait.
Seems like the "white slavers" comment wasn't anything as serious as the hype-mill spun it. It's almost a throwaway joke that you can tell doesn't really land. I think Lucas seems humble and wise in this clip.
Gandalf Playing Bagpipes and Riding a Unicycle in Portland
I live in Portland. I can confirm that Uni-cycling is a thing here. Not sure if this is the same Vader guy. Also, dressing up for no apparent reason is also a thing here.
Thomas Ricks describes Fox News to Fox News. Tis luverly!
Fiasco. Read it.
Romney Talks About Binders Full Of Women
This got a surprised chuckle out of me.
Bill Burr - How to Argue with a Woman and Win
Ah yes, the campaign of victory.
We've Heard It All Before
That was a joke, smart guy. Your dedication to ideology has blinded you to the possibility that this ad isn't as effective as it wants to be.
>> ^bobknight33:
That was actually good.
Truly sad one keeps promising the same thing and the other keeps changing his position.
The losers in the elections are the American people. Because no matter what is promised and said we will get more of the same, which is less and less respect for its citizens.
>> ^LukinStone:
The Dems tried to do the same in an anti-Romney ad, but they couldn't find any footage where he said the same time thing twice.

Guy gets shot by cops during a riot at LA Art-Walk 7/12/2012
http://www.laactivist.com/2012/07/14/police-arrests-over-chalking-leads-to-uprising/
Obviously, this site is biased, but they seem to make the argument that the beanbags were a direct response to peaceful and non-destructive protest.
Also, the site uses the term "ironically" incorrectly:
"Ironically, the protester, Christopher MacKinney, was chalking, 'A police state is more expensive than a welfare state — we guarantee it,' at the time of his arrest."
That's not ironic, if you think they have a legitimate gripe. It'd only be ironic if they were being arrested while making this statement, but, in fact, we could show that a police state was more efficient...
...or if they audience has additional information...never mind...

Agreed on the bean bag disclaimer. But, the guy's reaction is pretty funny, upset in a wtf kind of way...

Just rocked my socks off.
What makes America the greatest country in the world?
Hey, I'm all for the discussion, but now, after watching the first episode, I have to call foul on the "old man" criticisms. Or at least clarify why I think that shouldn't matter if we're talking about the story of the show.
The character is starting to become a crotchety old man. And it seems like the show is about him and his team trying to put on a good news show despite where we are with our media and him having a temper.
I would agree that there were some problems with the first episode. Parts of the script and acting were over the top. The documentary style is annoying, with the sudden zoom-focusing like they do in "the office" and "Parks and Rec". But, I think it has the potential to be on par with West Wing or Sports Night. It just needs to find it's stride.
I liked how they referenced real events that were all occurring in 2010 to frame the action. And, even if they were overly cheesy at times, bother Jeff Daniels and the chick (sorry, not looking her name up) are good. Bits of their personality and dialogue remind me of older, classic Sorkin.
All of those are good things and it seems to me a lot more promising than "Studio 60" was. Studio 60 was a pile of crap from the first episode. I really tried to like that one and it was just too melodramatic.
star trek II-teaser trailer 2013
I watched the episode of "Spoilers" on Hulu with Damon Lindelof talking about Prometheus. It seems like he just comes up with ideas that make JJ Abrams say "cool" and then the guy doesn't bother to figure out how to make a coherent plot out of it.
If you take into consideration that he was a fan-boy who apparently had a producer friend who got him "in the room" to pitch ideas for "Lost," its no surprise he kind of sucks.
