GDGD: Burning flags, while generally frowned upon, is constitutionally protected speech, especially if done in protest. That is why congress would have to pass a constitutional amendment to override the first amendment.

What's the point in having a constitution in the first place if you're just going to write get out clauses into it?

Burning is also the proper way to dispose of an old/tattered flag, though obviously that's more ceremonial than a bunch of protesters soaking one in propane and lighting it.

I'm all for protesters trying to soak one in propane and light it. Just stand back a couple hundred feet when they do.

Perhaps you meant lighter fluid/gasoline or one of the other liquid accelerants?
