Having finally played Mass Effect this year I do disagree with all his points. ME was rather fab particularly the combat. The conversations are mostly interesting and imbue the whole experience with depth and atmosphere.

The interface for the weapon mods could be better done and it took me ages to understand it. On a higher difficulty level that would have undone me. But anyway the story is good and it's a lusciously designed game.

And what's odd is that I *hated* Oblivion while this seemed a helluva lot more focused and fun. The vehicle might indeed be a twitchy bugger but come on, driving near *vertically* up a mountain was awesome
