arnorsays...Just an aside; since when is Wikipedia an online dictionary?
RedSkyHmm what irony?
Duckman33What irony? Network News reporting this story is irony. Who other than Network News to put their own "spin" on a story to sway the public opinion to their way of thinking?
"Fox news, fair and balanced" my arse. or any news produced in the states for that matter. It's all BS, propaganda, and spin. And yes, I know this story is on CNN, I just love that tag line from Fox news. Talk about irony...
8383"Chameleons, Catastrophes and Candidates" I see what you dun thar.
rychanThe problematic issues for Wikipedia aren't issues of "truth" so much as issues of relevance of neutral point of view. It's easy to say "that's wrong, this reference is wrong, deleted" but it's much harder to say "you're using weasel words", "you're taking this quote out of context", or "no, this doesn't need to be on a separate criticism page it needs to be right here in the main article".
Two editors could start with the same truth and spin the freaking hell out of it with selective quotes, errors of omission, and weasel words to make two completely different articles.
MarineGunrockDeport them? Is that interviewer really that stupid?
lesserfool^ not stupid, I think it was a tongue-in-cheek comment that went wrong due to the inherent douchebaggery in TV "news."
davidraineDeported from the Internet, eh?
"We're sorry sir, but our investigation reveals that you are editing Wikipedia malevolantly. You're being sent back to Encyclopedia Dramatica."
Kerotandouble yew tee eff.

Does Mr. Big Words Fancy Pants want some caviar with his "encyclopedia?" This is network news, give them a break.
jwrayNetwork News: is the dumb content created to cater to the dumb audience, or is the dumb audience the result of the dumb content?
Both. And it's a recursive race-to-the-bottom if you try to oversimplify things so much that 99% of the audience can understand it without even bothering to look up a word up in a dictionary.
rottenseedbottom up politics?
That sounds like a direct democracy...that sounds like the potential for "mob mentality"
