What You Ought To Know - The Scientific Method

Yes, we all know how the scientific method works, but for some reason this guy delivers it with a tad of humility, which I appreciate.

Big bang theory is not presented as fact.
String theory is not presented as fact.
Dark Matter is not presented as fact.

These are the only 3 theories he uses to back his argument up that science is the new religion....for that alone, it gets my downvote. Those topics all have testable elements within their respective theoretical fields.

He is absolutely correct about the human ego getting in the way of science, whether it be pushing an untested hypothesis through as fact for an agenda, or by protecting a disproven theory. However, the leap from hypothesis to theory is a little simplified in his definition. Also the term "proof" is thrown around too lightly. The only difference between a "proof" and "theory", scientifically, is math. If it can be mathematically shown, then that becomes a "proof" for the "theory" it proves.

Try doing a mathematical proof for the theory of evolution...
...not such an easy task, but it doesn't mean that evolution isn't the closest damn answer we have

This is just the third video I've seen with this guy, and I can't watch him anymore. The smarminess, the constant head-nodding and eye movements and thinking he's so clever and funny... I just can't do it.

I appreciate his message, but he hams it up WAY too much, and all of the quick editing is completely unnecessary and distracting.

Let's cut from a scene of a guy talking in front of a white background to a scene of the same guy talking in front of the same white background, only this time, shifted a half an inch to the left! It'll endear us to the MTV crowd!

Uh... no.
