glyphssays...Holy crap, that's probably the same reason why I like early smashing pumpkins stuff so much. corgan and chamberlain were absolute virtuosos and getting your hands on a concert bootleg from before 2000 was an actual musical find. I got a few and those gigs were so diverse.
Anyone know of other bands with similar chemistry and ability?
siftbotsays...How Jack White Uses Color has been added as a related post - related requested by RFlagg on that post.
Fairbssays...when the narrator talks about how it sounds chaotic even though it's calculated (in this case) is what I think makes a ton of music great... thinking sloppy drunk punk, jazz and blues going any which direction, moments in most live performances...
RFlaggsays...*quality as this was where I first discovered this guy, watched many of his after this one...
siftbotsays...Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by RFlagg.
DrMaximansays...I totally agree, John Bonham was a totally amazing drummer and his untimely death was such a loss to music; as were the early deaths of Marc Bolan and Jimi Hendrix. I would love to have heard how their music evolved.
There are few drummers in the world that can compare to John Bonham, one of those few is Neil Peart of the Canadian rock legends RUSH. There was a article a few years back in Rolling Stone magazine which listed him as number 4 (Bonham was number 1!!). I think Keith Moon was second, although I don't know why. Peart is far better!! I can't remember who was third.
Thank you for this Oritteropo! Keep the beat mate!
Chaucersays...Moon was better. He was doing all of this stuff before Bonham.
