WaterSeer - Drawing Water Out of Thin Air

WaterSeerâ„¢ eliminates this chronic and tragic burden by providing access to clean, safe drinking water, right where people live, by extracting water directly from the air.

There is some controversy over the actual application of this device, mostly in that the ground will not cool the air enough to condense the water in the amount they predict. This is still something the inventors are looking into and it may end up forcing the condensation device to be non-passive. Personally, I think that the benefits outweigh the negatives in continuing with this research, but that is up to the viewer.

Paybacksays...

I'm not seeing where the water becomes "safe and clean".

Pathogens survive in the air by being in the water drops this machine condenses. Most of the water is coming from the evaporating puddles this video says is bad.

Bad water in = bad water out.

Mordhaussays...

I think the mean primarily things that you could get from drinking stream or puddle water, like Giardia or some types of Hepatitis.

Buttlesays...

The device does not condense water drops, it condenses water vapor. Parasites and pathogens cannot survive in water vapor, otherwise you would fall victim to them simply through breathing the air.

I don't know whether it's likely to be practical, but the principle is sound.
