"Weird Al" Yankovic - First World Problems

PopCrush: ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic is letting all of his first world frustrations out in ‘First World Problems,’ the latest in his eight videos in eight days campaign — and PopCrush has the exclusive premiere of the video!
Done in the musical style of the Pixies, Yankovic hilariously rants about everything from his electric toothbrush running out to missing out on breakfast because he slept in too late, all while angrily running around in a self-proclaimed “douchey blonde wig.”
“I got first world, first world problems,” he belts out on the chorus of the ‘Mandatory Fun’ tune, which also includes woeful lyrics like, “The thread count on these cotton sheets has got me itchin’ / My house is so big I can’t get Wi-Fi in my kitchen” and “I had to buy something I didn’t even need so I could qualify for free shipping on Amazon!”
While we’ve all been there, there’s no denying that Weird Al’s character in the video is a bit of a pretentious jerk, something he told us about with a laugh.
“I told [director Liam Lynch] that I didn’t want to be myself; I wasn’t Weird Al in this video — I was kind of like this douchey character,” he told PopCrush. “So we thought, ‘OK, we’ll find you a douchey blonde wig … [which was made of] real human hair … and I tried it on, and it fit, and we had fun with it!”
Check out the exclusive premiere of Weird Al’s ‘First World Problems’ video above, and be sure to pick up a copy of ‘Mandatory Fun’ on iTunes and Amazon (and try to get that free shipping, of course).

I can't figure out why the embed says the video won't be released until 7/21/2014. I hope this issue will be fixed soon (it is possible to watch the video embedded on PopCrush, however).

Looked at it some more and havent found any obvious solution. Guess some websites have special permission or relations to Vevo to allow it. Even weird al's own site won't play the video.

^^^ When I follow that I get "not available for streaming in your area"....yet Im watching it on another website that gave me the link to follow.

Here is a link off another website: And it plays on the other website..but when sharing it says the same thing..dunno.

*removed link since it wasn't working anyway*

I tried to modify the embed code to contain the direct link to the mp4, but Siftbot keeps telling me it's a dupe of the "Word Crimes" video. Otherwise it might have worked.

[Edit] I managed to embed the mp4 video!

Um, now it is trying to make me download the MP4. Please put the old code back! Supposedly, it will work in a few days.

I tried playing the video on 4 different computers with 3 different browsers and it worked just fine. Maybe yours is missing a plugin?

If this isn't intentional irony, please tell me!

Because the unintentional irony is still just as funny!

The irony is First World Problems!
Can't get the video to load is the problem
The First world issue is us having 4 computers and three browsers to choose from.
(Understanding that the issue wasn't yours but Ant's, but the issue is still the same.)

We can't get a video about First World Issues to load while Second and Third World people, can't get food, or have homes, or electricity to even run a computer, even if they did own one - which they don't..

Lilithiasaid:

Please tell me what irony can be found in this quote.

Lilithiasays...

I wrote that I tested the video on 4 computers. Firstly, I never stated that they were all my own (which they aren't, but I understand that this can still be seen as a privilege). Secondly, it worked perfectly on all of the computers, so there is no problem.
People complaining about not getting a video about first world problems to load while having the privilege to use the Internet and a computer might be ironic. What I wrote was the opposite of that and I just wanted to know what exactly was supposed to be ironic about being able to play a video on 4 computers while someone else can't.

This exactly.

No offense intended on my end. Just thought it was a bit of unintentional ironic humor is all.
