newtboysays...I think the video is too long, could be :40 if you know the back story, in short, guilty on first degree murder, not guilty on 2 counts of aggravated assault. This is the case where a cop shot into a car of unarmed kids that was driving away, killing one.
ulysses1904says...I'm not sure about the video description, unless there's some technicality I'm missing. What about White Male Officer Michael Slager in South Carolina?
newtboysays...Good catch.
Claim is overreaching.
Maybe the first first degree murder conviction? Not the first murder conviction though, it seems.

A white former South Carolina police officer was sentenced to 20 years in prison by a federal judge on Thursday for the shooting death of an unarmed black motorist, an unusually severe sentence for a police shooting.
The judge had earlier ruled that Michael Slager, who shot and killed Walter Scott after a traffic stop in 2015, committed second-degree murder, paving the way for the sentence.

newtboysays...Yes, and....
U.S. District Judge David Norton, in issuing the sentence, said Slager shot Scott with "malice and recklessness" and then gave false testimony to investigators. Norton ruled that Slager, 36, was guilty of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice, and he also sentenced Slager to two years of supervision after his release.

Michael Slager pleaded guilty to federal charges of civil rights violations.
C-notesays...The title of the article you found is misleading. If you read down further in that article you will find the following statement.
"Still, Slager pleaded guilty in federal court to violating Scott’s civil rights. As part of the plea agreement reached in May, prosecutors dropped state murder charges..."
Someone should petition that website to issue a correction to the title of that article.

C-notesays...A decent lawyer could represent Michael Slager and sue that website for defamation. Libel lawsuits generate good money.
newtboysays...Likely not, because a sitting judge did say, from the bench and on the record, that he was guilty of second degree murder and obstruction, so technically he was found guilty by a judge in court, but perhaps not in a legal sense (but that finding was part of the plea, so perhaps even legally).

siftbotsays...Moving this video to C-note's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
