jimnmssays...The following description was included with the original video:
"In this Iraqi video, an insurgent attempts a sniper hit on Army Pfc. Stephen Tschiderer. Luckily, Tschiderer was not killed, but he was able to track down and wound the assailant...after which, Tschiderer provided him with medical care."
Wumpussays...I bet that will leave a bruise.
theo47says...An insurgent attack every 15 minutes now, according to Woodward.
I fail to see how turning our men into cannon fodder with no plan "supports the troops".
blackoutsays...He was wearing hard body armor, thus why he was able to get back up after being show with an AK-47 (7.62x39). Hard body armor means no bruise, with hard body armor the round is stoped whereas soft body armor aka a "bulit proof" vest just 'catches' the round still leaving your body to absorb the momentum of the round.
Think of hard body armor as a brick wall, throw an egg at it, the egg with break and lose it's momentum that way. Think of soft body armor as an air bag, throw an egg at it and the bag will have to deform to absorb the momentum of the egg.
joedirtsays...One is kevlar, one is ceramic plates (laminated with kevlar). So hard body armor is heavier and I believe ineffective after a certain amount of hits.
Wumpussays...I would think that after one hit, you would remove yourself from the situation. In places like this you don't wait around for a second one.
