Truck Spills Load on Russian Highway

A ‘Final Destination’ moment from Russia. Luckily no one was hurt. (dailypicks)

There's no dividing line between the opposite sides of the road. I can't stand driving on streets like that. It feels so dangerous.

The only time I've encountered that is in Vancouver where the middle lane can go in either direction depending on how the signal above the lane is illuminated, but even then it's unclear to a foreigner which direction it's going!

I know that stretch and exactly how you feel, @lucky760. I just drove over Lion's Gate on Sunday with people whipping by each other going 60 km/h (so 120 km/h relatively) in each direction with no divider in the centre. It feels crazy dangerous and I always think they should just put dividers on each lane and only allow cars to change lanes before the bridge.

But then the direction changeover of the middle lane would take the amount of time that it took for a car to go from one end of the section to the other. Plus, cars wouldn't be able to switch lanes over the bridge... So I guess it really comes down to convenience over safety with convenience winning here...

I'm still not sure that's the right decision...
