mintbbbsays...I am not sure if I want to see this or not. It looks good, but I grew up reading the Tintin Comic books (and Asterix too), and the characters here just look wrong to me. Clothes are OK, faces are not. Besides, the comics were so fantastic, I am not sure if you can just capture the spirit in the movie. It might be good.. but no, I don't think I want to see it.
EMPIREsays...the bigger problem for me really, is having these characters speak english. Tintin is and always was a french speaking character. This takes some of the magic away.
Trancecoachsays...Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are behind this...
so that should tell you something.
kymbossays...As long as it's true to the original, I'm happy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbMxvIWQJsQ
Enzobluesays...From someone whose never heard of Tintin without the Rin in front, this seems like a refreshingly classic old school adventure tale. Heroes, villans, sidekicks, chase scenes, narrow escapes, humorous quips - I say let's do this.
Mcboinkenssays...[redacted]
DarkenRahlsays...Way too much Uncanny Valley action going on in this.

I was going to say just the opposite. I want to see this just to find out how deep the Uncanny Valley has gotten.
jmdsays...I am with mizila, it really seems like they stayed very true to the original character designs, but the world itself hits itself off as being very realistic. Also the voices are something right out if an action movie and I find it hard to match it up with the super deformed look of the characters that use them. This latter issue however will probably go away once I actually start watching the movie.
Looks really good, although not quite epic. The trailer did nothing really to tell is who the hell this tin tin guy actually is.

He's got a dog named Snowy and he's on an adventure. How much more backstory do you want?
dagsays...Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)
I think it's just cartoony enough to avoid the creepy fate of Polar Express. I will be seeing this with the kids - who have read every single Tintin about 20 times each.
dannym3141says...I wish i knew the romanticism for tintin... i only ever saw the cartoon and i remember feeling like i was too young for it (or rather putting words to that feeling later on). Never got me
Almanildosays...Tintin will never be the same without the original, awesome, intro music.
brycewi19says...Dude, Steven Moffat wrote this? Count me in! The man is brilliant!
