For me the lack of an included camera was the biggest reason to go with the PS4.

At the start of the last console generation I didn't want to pay an extra $200 for a bluray player I didn't want. This time I don't want to pay an extra $100 for a camera I don't want.

That was a cute demo though. I can see how that would be fun at parties for a few minutes, sort of like the Wii was.

That looked like a lot of fun! Pity their camera is not actually included in the system.

That's a fair shout. There's going to be different market segments for this and for me I doubt I could accommodate the camera physically, if it's anything like Kinect.
Looks like it could be fun for family situations though. I could even see that aliens demo being expanded into a game.

In the UK I note that the PS4+camera still comes in cheaper than the Xbone. Interesting.

I love the gameplay implementations of things like these cameras, but technology has been so quickly turned around and aimed back in our faces. No one thinks about the privacy implications. Our TVs having the ability to watch and listen to everything in our home is just too similar to certain literary warnings in history.

unless some killer exclusive comes out, I'm abandoning consoles this season. Both consoles are all about stupid tv, motion and camera gimmicks. and they overcharge for junk I don't want.

I enjoy the freedom and flexibility of PC far too much.

Actually a lot of people think about that. There was a pretty big outcry when it was announced that the Kinect for the Xbox one would essentially be on all the time (or at least would have to be plugged in all the time), and Microsoft eventually had to come out and say that they had gotten rid of this requirement.
