I'm sorry, but whether or not you agree with what he did (and I do), what exactly did he expect would happen if caught? Seriously. If it was a corporation, you'd be fired and sued. This was the military. Their job is to kill people. Locking him up and basically losing the key is actually pretty reserved when you think about it.

@ponceleon it kind of sounded like he wanted to be caught. he was going around telling people what he did online? i remember hearing when he was talking to the hacker guy, he used the handle "bmanning87". they said it was not too hard to figure out which intelligence analyst was leaking info.

i want to say i heard/read other stuff saying that he wanted to be famous. a lot of this video was about how good wikileaks is at keeping people anonymous, this kid went out of his way to get caught.
