What are the chances of a fake antivirus (AV) scammer calling a security vendor? Probably slim, until this week when one such scammer calls Noah Magram, principle software engineer with Sourcefire. After talking to a series of agents for 30 minutes, Noah fires up a virtual machine. The video starts when the scammers get access to his "computer." (Note: Unfortunately, as Noah points out, scammers often try to use good services with bad intentions. Listen carefully as a few of these services are, indeed, legitimate.)

victor needs to learn how to type.

People like this called while I was staying at my mom's. I messed with them for a while and then called the police, first local, then federal. They said there was nothing they could do because these people were calling from the States (I had gotten their number through *69) and I was in Canada. They called my sister's place 20 minutes later, but my niece saw through it. About a year after that, they called my mom's again when I wasn't there and scammed her for $80.

I have no idea how these people sleep. Bad, bad people.

This is priceless. Man, what fun it would be to fuck with these assholes. Good, good stuff.

My mother in law was called by one of these dickheads. Luckily she thought it sounded a little odd and called me while she was on the phone to them... and I told her to hang up.
