I saw a Steve Irwin documentary that included these ants. The reason the heat isn't as bad for them is because their legs lift them high off the surface and because they are not touching the sand with all of their legs at once. Just some random information.

HistNerd: There was an ant documentary from Steve Irwin? Which one was that? I didn't think he ever did one, but I would love to see it!

I think it was still apart of the Croc Hunter series, but he was in Africa starting in Namibia and going North. Sorry, I saw it briefly this summer before I went to work.

This is the one that first pops up if you type Africa Final Frontier on Google, but I think the Discovery Channel site is down right now. It does talk about Steve in Namibia on the google search site though.

Yeah we have canines, BNSA, SwampGirl, Deputy Dog, conan (I think that's a poodle)
Daphne used to be a cat.
Snake represents the reptiles well.

Fish and worms seem to be a bit under represented.

Oh and pho3n1x is a couple of cats, and now dotdude is quite cat-like if you look hard.

I'll claim the worms.. but what about the fish and birds. And spiders.
