TDS: TIME Magazine's U.S. Edition

TIME Magazine's American issues feature soft cover stories, while their international issues offer hard-hitting world news.

Explains why the magazine is so thin...a planet full of nonsense constantly going on and they can't be bothered to relate real news to U.S. readers. Same thing with CNN..if you want "real" insights going on with America, try http://rt.com/ Russian Times. Slanted I suppose...but always insightful.

Meh, they're just trying to make a buck... I actually like Time's LightBox two-page spread (http://lightbox.time.com/), with a single, large, usually topical image.

Time can be light on its international stories lately (certainly compared to, say, The New Yorker), but I've caught a few well written short articles on domestic problems recently.

Jinxsays...

I saw a gif a while back making the same claim that Time dumbs itself down for the US...

But when you actually compare the front page rather than cherry picking you'll find that they a)often have the same cover b)"dumb" it down for other regions as much as they do for the US.

(not that I really like Time...just, you know...)
