They conveniently forget to mention the CIA-backed coup against Mossadeq that installed the Shah as fascist dictator, and how the US secretly sold weapons to both sides during the Iran-Iraq war.

The Iran Hostage Crisis was direct blowback from the Mossadeq affair.
