I saw a few of them (we were really lucky) last year at the Galapagos and they're indeed incredible (like a bus going by u/w).

Btw, don't tell anybody, but -- so far -- I've never managed to get a crab drunk, so my avatar is not my own pic either.

So what is the coolest creature you did have a close encounter with (and do you have pics)?

In reply to this comment by sharkie:
It's actually not my pic, sadly. As a diver I have seen a lot of cool creatures, but I am absolutely dying to see one of these myself!

In reply to this comment by Octopussy:
Is that avatar your own pic? If so, it's mighty impressive: where did you take it? If not, why did you choose a whale shark (asks Octopussy who has the lamest avatar evar)?

Republican Fear Factor Predictions Contest (Election Talk Post)

Octopussy says...

If they cannot find an excuse for code orange or convince Bin Laden to release a new tape this autumn, they will emphasise the endorsement by terrorist groups, rogue regimes and European socialist leaders.

Who thinks Powell's Endorsement was Based on Race? (Politics Talk Post)

Octopussy says...

QI, actually. A lot of feminists were upset about Hillary not making it and some are still confused about whether or not to support Palin. Which, frankly, I think is absurd, but apparently it is ok to think along those lines. So it almost seems as if women supporting a woman just because you share XX-chromosomes is fine, white people voting for other white people has been the standard for decades, but someone with Jamaican parents endorsing a person whose father was from Kenya is suspicious.

Fortunately, Powell did a great job in explaining why he made his choice. And I personally believe his endorsement is probably more anti-Republican than anti-white.

Oh, the rules, the rules... when will I ever know them all? Thank God, nobody has yet proposed one has to be informed in order to vote on the sift:

In reply to this comment by kronosposeidon:
Once a video is declared "dead," no one except the original poster can fix it during the first 48 hours. Go look at the Dead Pool right now, and you'll see that it's not there yet. It takes 48 hours for a dead video to go there, and only then can anyone fix it. That's why no one can fix it for you right now.

It seems like a goofy rule to me too, but that's the way it is. Sorry. However you should have it back in 2 days. If no one else fixes it for you by then just contact me and I'll do it.

We're still friends.

20/20: Should Some People Not Vote? (Oct 10/08)

Octopussy says...

@Xax: to be honest this isn't exactly an example of how to enlighten possible voters. It's extremely easy to show how stupid some people are, but it takes intelligence and an effort to explain things.

Btw, I live in Europe and telling you who I vote for would probably make you vomit .
