Rhapsody in Blue (1930)

it's amazing how much money was spent on sets then...

from YT:

"From "King of Jazz" (Universal Studios-1930.) The Paul Whiteman Orchestra playing "Rhapsody in Blue" with Roy Bargy on the piano. Dancing done by the Russell Markert Dancers, and Carla Laemmle."

awesome piano work at ~6:40

Great find. That is a beautiful set design. My biggest complaint is that they didn't play the full 16 minute version of Gershwin's masterpiece. That's one of my favorite musical pieces from that era, and every single note is pure genius. It still got my upvote, of course. Scenes from movies like these are *obscure classics.
