nibiyabisays...Talk about bush league. The play should have been whistled dead as soon as a foreign object appeared on the field.
Yogisays...No, just because there's a foreign object doesn't mean it's not safe to continue the game. The Laws say if it interferes with play, play is stopped and there's a drop ball where the incident occurred. However according to FIFA, on Pro TV games if it's safe to continue play, play continues. I don't like the difference in the Laws depending on the game for an incident like this...but I'm not a FIFA.
