LarsaruSsays...This is brilliant. Some serious skill displayed here... I used to know every single map in Quake but it has been so long since I played it...
moodoniasays...The sounds bring back all the memories, ZOMBIES!!

Even better is Quake Done Quick 100%. I probably should've sifted that one instead.
Stusays...Oh man the memories this brought back...awesome sift. The 100% is ridiculous as well.

Ruthless Bastard for life!!!!

gharksays...Ahhhhhhhh! Yes lots of memories, lost so many years of my life to this game.
GDGDsays...For some reason I always loved the dong dong dong of grenades in quake.
GDGDsays...Fuck. Please nobody quote that as:

NicoleBeesays...Those poor bad men sound like they have terrible sinus infections!
Franskysays...Wow. I'd forgotten how impressive a speedrun is.
Quake was when deathmatch was fun. So many Uni classes missed because of this game.

I think QDQ 100% gets tedious and doesn't have the elegance and frenetic pace of these speed runs.
I liked the colored lighting that had been added to this version of the game, I didn't really notice the other improvements but I'm sure it would have looked worse without them.
arghnesssays...The sharpened textures and coloured lights made my eyes strain. Not a fan.
I always liked regular muddy brown GLQuake along with the re-vis'd transparent water maps.
I remember following Quake Done Quick and Quake Done Quicker when they were being worked on. Great stuff. I remember being amazed when they skipped sections where gates normally closed by making sure monsters were there, so the the closing routine didn't work properly.
Psychologicsays...Is this done without cheats? He gets down to 1hp a couple times.
Xaxsays...Mostly this brings back fond memories of Quake 1 Capture The Flag... my first real multiplayer experience with more than 1 person. I got quite good playing Q1CTF with just the keyboard, aside from the occasional CTRL-ALT-DEL key combo (trying to shoot, strafe, and look down at the same time I think). Eventually I had to force myself to switch to a keyboard/mouse combo, which felt very unnatural at first.
Tymbrwulfsays...I switched over to keyboard/mouse when my brother told me his friends taught him these cool "hacker" controls for Half-Life.
Up until then I was hardcore arrowkeys/space/ctrl/alt/enter
flechettesays...Yeah, this was entirely done without cheats. I actually have my old moniker credited (DooMfienD) for some planning work and a stage I ran (e4m3) on Quake done Quick lite. You would not BELIEVE the work that goes into getting these maps done fast. www.Speeddemosarchive.com is the place to go if you're looking for the forums for the QdQ guys.
Kevlarsays...I was going to say - Quake Done Quickest (IIRC) was really cool because it was all from those dynamic camera angles (not 1st person). Still, great sift!

I was familiar with Quake Done Quicker, but I don't think I'd ever watched Quake Done Quickest before. The entire game in 13:49. Wow.
bamdrewsays...I love how riled up all the enemies get.
KnivesOutsays...It's the precision grenade jumping that always amazes. Rocket jumping isn't so hard, but the grenade jumping where he bounces a gren to exactly the right spot, before lifting off... wtf.
sepatownsays...i start to feel sorry for the NPCs. i just imagine them talking to each other at the end:
Ogre: "Guys, what the fuck just happened?"
Shambler: "That was just embarassing, did anyone hit him?"
Death Knight: "I did!"
Shambler: "That was me you dick. Remember? That's why i started trying to claw your eyes out."
Death Knight: "Oh, yeah. In my defense he wasn't fighting fair like normal, he kept bouncing around like a fucking douche."
A voice comes in over the loud speakerphone: "Player1 has scored a new record!"
Ogre: "Shit, Chthon is gonna be pissed."
Death Knight: "Fuck Chthon! My wife is gonna kill me, im on a performance based contract."
