That just seems crazy

Well, the one cop was heavy-handed, but can't disagree with the "you're an idiot" comment.

It is funny though, shows that what you thought you saw might not actually be true.

That was good clean fun. Most of the cops were good sports about it.

Now I know what to say next time I'm busted.

He's a jackass. Put yourself in the cop's place, having to police every piddling homeless peer out there. That's gotta be a blast. Trolling a cop over THIS is just pathetic.

it has to be clearly stated that nearly all of the coppers in this clip were being very professional. we all love to scream and rage when some of them are being dicks but these guys? nicer than i expected, especially the hugger ;-)

I disagree with you. It shows how power-hungry they are. Nobody would piss in the middle of a sidewalk in Times Square or next to a police station.
They were just begging for an excuse to arrest somebody.

It also shows how much of a cultural issue this is. America is supposed to be the land of the free (I know, we gave that up at least 10 years ago) but you can't pee outside? Here in Germany, they wouldn't bother with some guy peeing on the street, even in a city. Maybe if it's the middle of a crowded pedestrian area. But, in general, they trust that people won't do it (although drunk guys at night always do) and don't consider it worth their time to enforce some bullshit law. In the same way they don't give a shit about drinking in public, but in most places in the US you have to cover up your alcohol with a paper bag or you get fined for open container, a 'crime' which hurts no one.

I don't think citing someone for public urination is a 'bullshit law'. Are you a fan of littering also?

How about the cops spend more time dealing with real crime instead of using any opportunity to increase arrest numbers? And while we're at it, how about people stop being such prudes, if someone's gotta go, they've gotta go, and there's no arguing with nature when the nearest public toilets are either inconveniently far away or locked because some vandal causing real criminal damage has trashed them.

Video was damn funny, regardless of our opinions of what is worthy of police intervention. Even the police were smiling!

I think the cops were happy they didn't have to deal with some Occupy looking loon and end up getting piss on them.
