This guy is a fucking genius. If more Dems were like this every day on teevee, they'd be gaining seats in November and the GOP would be toast. It's not even about "growing a spine", it's about calling out the bullshit every day, every time you encounter it, in very simple terms.

The GOP wouldn't let it go to an actual vote. The Dems don't have 60 senators, so the GOP obstructs once again, just as they have with every single piece of legislation that's happened in the last 18 months - OH! Except for funding a war. That's real nice.

That's partly due to the democrats not completely giving up on the idea of bipartisanship like the Republicans have a million times over. We're already there IMHO but if your democracy is two parties that are forced to vote as a group by party bosses the country is run by party bosses and it's not a democracy anymore. It's almost the same as the soviet one party system.

If all our Democratic congressmen were like Weiner I think we'd get a hell of allot done and still keep our souls.
