Oliver Reed interview w David Letterman c.1987

Youtube: I swear this IS the weirdest TV interview ever. Yeah I know the Crispin Glover was all that but this is much denser!

The Late Oliver Reed appears with Dave of Late Night to talk about-- but never gets around to it really-- his newest project. When he made the flattened nose gesture and took off his glasses I thought for sure this was going to be a brawl. Watch Paul run for cover!

Hey! Back when Dave was funny! I loved his show in the mid-eighties: prancing fluids, "they pelted us with rocks and garbage," the Fugitive Guy, Peace Through Dramatization Players, etc. Not to be a name-dropper but years later, I got to know Bill Luhrs, who appeared several times as bit player on the show.

Funny funny stuff.

It's a real shame, oliver was a fucking genius at his art. He made a huge fool of himself so many times, but i'll miss him on screen.

Anyone like me who missed most of his career should check out some of his acclaimed films. Genius. Take gladiator for a kick off.
