Let's talk.
Israel is here to stay. I'm okay with that. I hope there is a state of Israel for as long as there are countries.
ConPat - who made this vid? It smells funny.

It's from the very long documentary: Ring of Power. judge for yourself.. but this is a historically accurate set of information of the rise of Israel.

10317says...

its also from a documentary called "secret rulers of the world",and yes..its VERY long, and some of the information is subjective and not easily validated.
in CP's defense, the information in this particular clip is accurate, and easily validated.
since when did history become a "tin foil" subject?
unless "tin foil" is a new slang word for "i didnt know that".

Aemaethsays...

The "tin foil hat" stuff is mostly at the beginning and the end.

Project Paper Clip seemed to about removing Nazi scientists. The conspiracy theories would be that it was actually to remove SS operatives. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Paperclip)

There's a lot of speculation that is stated as fact in the video, such as that Hitler didn't commit suicide after all. This is a link to one such conspiracy site (the front page says, "Your government is poised to inject you with a tracking chip manufactured by Applied Digital Solutions called, "Veri Chip". Don't believe me? Click below, I'll prove it to you.")

Most of the stuff in the middle is fairly accurate, but it's hard to take it all as fact when it is sandwiched in between dodgy stuff (at best). There's also a strange tone that seems to suggest they are putting a spin on it. Using a term like "reign of terror", for example, is always good way to characterize someone without having to give any real evidence of their character.

Oscar for the most unbalanced, simplistic view of 60 years of history.

Seriously what do: Hitler may have escaped, “banksters” and the Vatican are bad guys; the allied powers drugged the Turks in WWI; the UN is the most powerful weapon of global control; Palestine being called Canaan in ancient times; jumping from 1948 to Sharon; Sharon’s “reign of terror” violated dozens of UN resolutions (here I’m getting confused, I thought the UN were the baddies); a very chaotic story about the Star of David; and Operation Paperclip explain about anything?

What on earth are “Rothschild Jewish zionists”, “bankster pirates”, “nuclear weapons of mass destruction”, and “Hebrew Jews”?

Btw, the documentary does mix up Jews and Israeli’s a number of times (am I the only one feeling seriously uncomfortable about that?) and seems to think that all Palestinians and Israel's neighbouring countries are Muslim.

As so often in Palestinian modern history: who needs enemies if these are supposedly your friends?

Octopussysays...

Yeah, that’s funny. I claim the documentary is confused and simplistic and your answer is that I should do research.

Ok, what does the fact that Hitler might’ve escaped say about Israel? What is the vid’s view on the UN? I looked up Canaan on Wikipedia, but why is that name significant? So what if the hexagon/Star of David means a number of things? And if the CIA recruited nazi’s how does that relate to Israel? Remember the title of the vid is “Brief history of Israel”; most of what is said in this vid doesn’t even remotely relate to Israel.

Do you want sources for my claim that not every Jew is an Israeli and vv and that not all Palestinians are muslim?

Octo stated: "Do you want sources for my claim that not every Jew is an Israeli and vv and that not all Palestinians are muslim?"

No... Of course not all jews are israeli. I didn't make the video btw... I don't prescribe to everything in it.. I just posted it because I find the Israeli occupation and heavy AIPAC influence on American foreign policy interesting. relax.

Octo stated: "Remember the title of the vid is “Brief history of Israel"

Actually the title is "A brief history of Israel +" .... notice the plus sign at the end of it.. it means there's more than just a brief history of israel.. but I needed to keep the title relatively short.

But I will not do your research for you. sorry.

I was answering you're questions above.. sorry I didn't "quote" your specific question and you mistook my answer for a response to your entire comment.

@CP:

The funny thing is that I totally agree with you that the US shouldn’t keep supporting an Israel that insists in (inter alia) violating UN resolutions, but I’m afraid that this particular documentary doesn’t get the point across and could easily be interpreted as too anti-Israel or, even worse, as anti-semitic (which usually happens if one mixes up Jews and Israeli’s). In other words, I think overlooking all of Israel’s history between 1948 and 2000 and simply comparing Sharon to Saddam Hussein isn’t going to change anybody’s mind.

So maybe I should rephrase my earlier comment to: do the Palestinians still need an enemy if their friends keep fighting each other .

And without daring to ask you to do my research for me, I tried to find out more about this vid (looking for “Ring of Power”), but it looks as if nobody knows who the producer/director is and there’s also a lot of confusion re titles, bylines and context. Do you know who made this and/or where to find the rest of the documentary? It looks like an excerpt of this: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8250619454941053618.
