hpqpsays...Exactly what I thought on seeing the spidey trailer. (Still wanna see it though)
citosays...I really getting tired of remake after remake after remake. But my biggest pet peeve is in my personal opinion STOP REMAKING ORIGIN STORIES! we get it, we know it, lets move on!
They are rebooting Superman and starting with the Origin story, it's been done to death
this spiderman origin story, they did origin story for xmen first class, even down to kid show remakes, the new thundercats cartoon starts over with the origin again.
I would love for once, instead of origin story we get a freaking continuation. A "Where are they now" you can call it. Like for spiderman let the first 3 stay in canon, then ok fine new actors I understand that part totally, but continue the story you dont have to add part 4 to it, but just continue, we know the origin already from the 60's live action tv show, the old 80's cartoons, the 90's remake of the cartoons, the movies, etc.
hehe yea I could rant forever about it, but it's just a pet peeve of mine. I really hate remakes of origin stories, I hated it with batman remake of the origin story and I don't think I'll ever like remakes of origin stories.
budzossays...It's not directly inspired by Mirror's Edge. And it's not coincidence so much as the natural course of things. Get used to more and more first-person POV in movies.
RFlaggsays...Will the first person POV even be in the movie or was it just for the trailer? Beyond this and Doom are there any other real cases of first person POV in movies though?

budzossays...First-person POV has become part of the modern human's visual vocabulary in a new way. Twenty years ago a large part of the audience would probably find such a shot overly disorienting. You'd have a lot of people complaining it gave them motion sickness or that they just couldn't tell what was happening. Or I imagine really stupid people would say "that's so CHEAP you can't even see Spider-Man!"
But these days with hundreds of millions of phone cameras, and people growing up playing first-person videogames, the first-person point-of-view has become instantly readable to a large part of the audience (and it's not like everyone needs training to "get" such shots... just the common miscreants). Blair Witch, Cloverfield etc. were an introduction but not true POV movies. I can't wait for the first all-POV movie.
antsays...That director must be a Mirror's Edge fan.
I hope they don't overdo it or else I am going to get motion sickness!
