NYPD cop records evidence of quotas--Retaliation

YouTube Description:

NYPD officer Adrian Schoolcraft secretly records NYPD top brass giving orders that tickets must be written and arrest must be made or there will be hell to pay. He goes on to say that orders were given to harass people so vigorously that they will not even want to step foot outside in fear of being arrested or ticketed. The police are nothing more than an organized crime syndicate which has fooled us into believing they are here to protect us. When was the last time you seen a cop save somebody or help you for that matter? You can't even look at a cop without him giving you a dirty look and finding you suspicious of a crime, that's if your not a young pretty girl or boy for that matter.I can personally testify to constant harassment and intimidation by the NYPD, we are a city literally under siege as we are all being ticketed into poverty by these bogus protectors. Lines are wrapped around the corner at criminal court houses over tickets that cops seem to be giving out because they need to meet their quota aka "productivity goal" which is to make money for this corrupt Justice system and corporate owned prison industry. God help us all if we don't wake up and come together to stop this.

I think the worst part is they got one of the very few good cops who wouldn't put up with this illegal bullshit to quit. They are there to protect and serve US! If they don't wanna do it they don't have to, I'd be glad to pay more taxes and pay cops more if they were held accountable. Honest Cops!

Quotas never made since to me the way they exist, perhaps someone can explain it to me. Like, I understand giving someone a limit, like, I don't want to see you bringing in more than 20 DWI's a week. That makes sense to me because it would mean you are wasting time and resources on a crime that isn't as harmful as, say, murder. Don't waste a disproportionate amount of police resources on certain crimes. Quotas, however, seem to WANT a certain focus instead of discourage certain focuses. Is this to A) lower overall costs by assuring jail cells are full of cheap, petty crimes B) Fulfill political objectives ahead of legal ones? I really don't understand. To me, it would make the most since to have empty jails and well payed officers. If you keep the jails full, does the mean you get more funds for more cops, so to arrest people is good for business, is that what is really going on? I would like to know the 411 on this. I know a lot of people have been posting the abuse videos of the private prisons, which more than likely are horrible. But this evil might be far more destructive and FAR more insidious. Insidious evil is a worse evil, because it is harder to correct (imo)

Similarly here in the Greater Toronto area, Parking Enforcement has issued me tickets that are false. A ticket for unmetered parking, when I've STILL GOT TIME on the meter, and one for parking past midnight in a paid parking zone in which it is CLEARLY permitted. The tickets are low enough ($30-$40) that it's cheaper to pay them than to take time off work to fight them - which often requires two trips to the courthouse. Plus I live 25 mins to an hour outside downtown Toronto depending on time of day. It's SO damned aggravating to have to suck it up and pay for a blatant cash grab!

To gripe further, I'd love to take transit in but the transit system is so underdeveloped that it's simply not a timely option.

Fact!

I used to live near College and Bathurst in little Italy, and would catch parking Enforcement on a side street writing a pad of tickets. They'd walk out and issue the tickets as parking in expired parking zones, but they issued the ticket an hour before the time expired on the sign, and it was written on the ticket as an hour after the allotted time.

I caught another one once while in the car, and looked at him as he filled out his stack of tickets, he turned his car on and drove off. I came back down that street an hour or so later, and all the cars had been ticketed. =P

Money and sociopaths do us great wonders in every position of power (not to knock all sociopaths, but that is a pretty bad streak...). This is what we have allowed to take control; from the high-rolling with no concern CEO, to the thrice paid for politician, the narcissistic lawbreaking cops, and high throttle hot heads that are military in charge.

We have to be more proactive and more vigilant. Hopefully, we aren't so far gone that a civil war will be needed to undo the damage done.

GotDAMN Bruti79, that's blatant! Another reason to resent rather than respect city officials I did a search and found there's now an option for fighting parking tickets online, implemented earlier this year: http://www.toronto.ca/pay-toronto-tickets/disputes.htm
Limited, but it's something.

Girlfriend told me about this guy from an interview she heard with him on NPR today. Guy is my new hero.

I also heard about this on NPR today.
Needs to be on every frontpage in the country.

Me too, I heard the tape of him being "helped" by his co-workers because they were "concerned for him." Frightening stuff. The fact that they could institutionalize him because they were the cops in order to try to silence him.

I feel like that was months ago when I heard it? Wasn't there huge fallout?

You're right. I added the air date to the description.

Timing aside, it appears that the case was given the go-ahead to do discovery this May... wow the system moves fucking slow... You'd think something of this magnitude, including an insanely frightening abuse of power when they put him in a psychiatric hospital against his will would make for FAR more quick responses...

Absolutely!
Unless some powerful people and their lapdog "news media" wanted it to quietly go away.
