NOAA's GOES-16 Satellite Spies Megaflash Lightning

"Shocking! Within this cluster of storms, a single lightning bolt captured by NOAA's GOES-16 (GOES East) satellite in April 2020 was recently certified by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) as the world’s longest flash on record with a distance of 477 miles.
