It's no secret that Muhammed Ali was a lot more than a boxer. And the story goes way deeper than his name change. He stood up about civil rights before it was easy, with Malcolm X as his mentor. And his stand against the war in Vietnam cost him his career for almost four years in his prime.

But he didn't mind. In his words, boxing was not his "main fight." That was reserved for freedom and equality — and for it, he danced on the world stage just like he did in the ring. -Vox

He was an amazing human.
