gorillamansays...I'm so torn.
Deanosays...We both run Windows.
James Roesays..."We both run Windows."
true....
Also this particular boot cycle on my home built pc is about 23 days old with no complications. I pretty much only reboot because firefox has memory leak issues, and those would happen in OS X as well. Suck it haters.
joedirtsays...I disagree, Firefox in UNIX (OSX) doesn't have memory leak issues, and the OS handles such situations much better. Also, Safari has no such issues.
I agree, I rarely reboot Windows, (use hibernation) because it is more problematic than it is worth. I'm sorry but Windows is just a poor excuse for anything. I mean there is a new Office remote exploit. Everything is just a huge security problem in Windows, and the Updates are worse than anything you can imagine.
Vista is really lame in that you now get nag screens anytime something needs install, admin privledges, or registry (system) access. That is not security, just annoying.
Deanosays...Yes the suggestion that PCs have to restart every few seconds is shall we say, taking dramatic license. I have a well maintained 2000 system and I get the odd lockup but it's a world away from the bad old days of Windows 95/98/ME.
Farhad2000says...I have to check my online connection to see how long I have been running my XP system live... now it's been about a week and a half.
I think a good computer experience really depends on the user's ability and knowledge about their system. I run Windows XP and I feel like am driving a chevvie, I know it's not the best, but I know how it works and it usually gets me where am going.
But Vista... No thanks.
Deanosays...Well put Farhad, I know people who could screw up any PC through basic carelessness.
Big no thanks to Vista here as well, DRM'ed piece of crap.
