I think it's still partially a dig at the 360, but yeah, without giving too much away, it's pretty clear from the MGS4 context that he's making fun of the disc swap from the original MGS.

About breaking the 4th wall, while he does love doing it, thankfully he does it less in MGS4 than he did near the end of MGS2. It was memorable there, but I didn't want the ending of this game to just be a relentless assault on your sanity like the end of MGS2 was.

The little "flashbacks" had me worried the ending of the game was going to be a teenage Snake turning off a PS3, and then going to eat dinner with his family. Thankfully it wasn't anything like that, and was actually very well done.
