Video Flagged Dead

Maxed Out On Credit

'Newcomer director James D. Scurlock offers devastating statistics, interviews, footage from Congressional hearings and vintage video to reveal the seamy side of the lending and collection industries. In the process, he also illustrates, in graphic detail, how Americans become addicted to easy but financially disastrous credit card schemes, and how many are holding onto the shreds of a middle class lifestyle by sinking deeper into debt.'

Watched this whole movie..depressing, especially the bit where the US spends more on debt service than education and healthcare combined. Corporations have motivations and needs which seem to chew people up..

when you see some of the people in trouble and how they got there, it's mind boggling. its like "hey the numbers dont add up, but hell, let's buy it anyway". Feel sorry for the people that end up in that situation by bad luck / unforseen circumstances.

credit is evil. eeeeeeeeeevil !

The comment in the end credits about the credit reporting agencies maintaining a special 'lenient list' for celebrities and lawmakers is particularly damning. It makes the CRAs look like a particularly sleezy part of the credit industry.
