lv_huntersays...Just odd that this song is to an animation that takes place under water.
SpaceOdditysays...Oooh, What computer game have I heard this in? Freespace maybe?

ulysses1904says...I work for a large company and they had a pretty good amateur orchestra going for a few years. They did this piece and i created a 3D animation to project in the auditorium while they played. I was impressed that an amateur orchestra would attempt something in 9/4 time signature or whatever it is. But they did a good job. I should post the animation here, it was pretty funny.

Good stuff. If you take a listen to any of the great themes from science fiction movies of the last 3 decades, you can trace a lot of it back to Holst. Star Trek, Aliens, etc.
siftbotsays...Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by videosiftbannedme.
HadouKen24says...Holst has been my favorite composer since I first heard the Planets at 14. This was only confirmed when I played the euphonium in high school. (Concert band, not marching) His First Suite in E-Flat had the best solos I've ever played.
