deedub81says...Voice wobble syndrome.
But, seriously: He wasn't THAT good. I hate to be a sour sport - He's just some guy that can kinda sing.
He's trying to immitate the sound of vibrato (incorrectly so) to the point of forcing what we call "vocal wobble." He isn't supporting his breath properly. He also fails to hit the notes solidly on the larger interval jumps. He slides. I find this fairly annoying. Call me a snob, but I know what I like.
conansays...now where was the "incredible stagefrigth"?
and besides: i agree to deedub. those shows will lower the quality of music overall because all that people hear is this 'semipro' (at best) stuff on and on.
MaxWildersays...Sorry, this guy does an adequate job at a beautiful song (I also hate the vocal wobble, though I've heard worse). It's a great story about overcoming stage fright to share your talent, but it doesn't quite compare to Susan Boyle, and it's nothing compared to the original breakout singer on Britain's Got Talent, Paul Potts: http://www.videosift.com/video/A-Cell-Phone-Salesman-Sings-Opera-Nessun-Dorma
harrysays...That shaky voice trick really.. grinds my gears.
