Sadly, HBO did not pick up Lucky Louie for another season. While he is not the genius that Bill Hicks was, Louis CK is the closest thing to Hicks these days.

Closest to Hicks? Really? I don't see it.

Both are/were smart, acid, profane, and ruthless towards right-wing dissembling.

Hicks had an almost visionary presence and talent, though, while Louis CK is merely a great comedy writer.

Louis CK doing a sitcom was an interesting experiment, but he's way too unconventional to fit into half-hour plots. Otherwise, he's brilliant.
