Copper is a better conductor than aluminium.
fissionchipsIt's a little complicated, because aluminum is also a good conductor (ie. low electrical resistance). To keep the coil from overheating, these induction forge rigs have water hoses that circulate cold water through the copper coil. >> ^Ornthoron:
