Wow. Has Maher been hanging out with Tom Cruise lately? I think he might have finally gone off the deep end.

How so? With what he says about pharmaceuticals? I think he has a point, watch CBS between 6 and 8pm and count how many different pharmaceuticals are advertised, it's out of control.

All right. He very well could have a point - and with respect to MISUSE of medications, (including polypharmacy) he most certainly does. But now is the time to put up or shut up. Let's see the double-blind, prospective, placebo controlled studies demonstrating what he claims.

Theoretically, the FDA has the studies to show the efficacy and, presumably, the safety of drugs on the market prior to their release. However, in this day of profits above all and big government (particularly the current administration) in bed with blue chip corporations, I suppose they could let a few things slide...

The problem isnt just what individual drugs do to your body, the problem is in the aggressive marketing and the following mixture of all these drugs just to get up in the morning. Drugs are supposed to help you IF there is something actually wrong with your body. People get hooked and conjured into thinking they need these drugs all the time..
