My grandmother told me that we are somehow related to her. I don't know how much truth there is to that, but she has always been iconic to me.

Exactly. Like I said, "much of the essence of the teachings of Jesus." He took the law of God and rammed it right down the throat of the Pharisees. That's one of the many things to like about him.
