Kalamazoo Police Officer Saves Woman From Choking

YT: A Kalamazoo Public Safety officer saved a choking woman on Saturday.

Around 11:35am KDPS Officer Jason Gates stopped a woman for a red light violation in the 4100 block of South Burdick Street.

As Officer Gates approached the vehicle he found that the driver was choking on food and struggling to breath.

He performed the Heimlich maneuver and the woman began breathing again. He received a heartfelt thanks and a hug for his help.

Am I a cynic to think she might have intentionally "choked" and made the cop her hero to get out of the ticket?

It's odd that she didn't start choking until well into the stop, and I heard a lot of noise coming out of her mouth, but when you're truly choking your airway is blocked so there is no air passing through to make such sounds.

Hmm.

P.S. The double-play is really annoying.
