John Green's Fiery Race Car Disaster

YouTube Description:

In which John uses one of those clickbaity titles, but it is also the only accurate description of the video. John Green raced noted author and car enthusiast Maggie Stiefvater on a dirt track in Princeton, Minnesota, which led to these thoughts from that place.

I can't really see what happens but it kinda looks like his car just spontaneously catches on fire. Certainly he overcorrects and causes some undue stress with the car sliding sideways over the ground but... I don't think that should have caused it to start on fire. Basically, I think he's taking a bit more blame for the fire than he should be.

Wow, $40,000+ Lancer beats a $750- partially wrecked homebuilt dirt track car. Who woulda thunk it?

I also think the "home crew" would have probably faired better against her because I'm absolutely certain they would have been told to not come in contact with her car, otherwise known as "racing" in those parts.
