JustSayingsays...I really have to agree with Joe here. The message sent here is troubling.
RedSkysays...Isn't this kit and kaboodle routine all standard fare by now?
Right wing talk show hosts have an incentive to make controversial comments because they're preaching to a curated audience and any mainstream outrage they receive just boosts their ratings.
Similarly, some congressional seats are so safely white and right wing because of jerry-mandering that their only real competition are other Republicans in primaries so making the odd pandering to your base comment is a great way to get some free publicity and stave off competition.
I'm more interested in how voir dire didn't result in a jury racial balance more representational of wider US demographics at large. That's not to suggest that these kinds of decisions necessarily occur on the basis of racial lines but if there's any credibility to the comments they discuss that the white juror made, then there's a clear need for representational relatability.
lantern53says...Hundreds of blacks are killed by blacks every day in this country, but one kid picks on the wrong community organizer and gets the ultimate sendoff, and the libs and poverty-pimps get up in arms.
RedSkysays...Because they're two separate issue, one relates socioeconomics, the other to racial bias.
Based on the audio of the police call we also know who picked on who.

Sources."The talk" that White, Latino, and Asian parents have with their children goes like this:
Liberals think the above stats are reversed. That misunderstanding of the statistics is why their arguments on race tend to emphasize base emotion (the "reptile brain") instead of data and thoughtfulness (the neocortex).
(If any of that data is wrong, please let me know.)
bareboards2says...Not interested in discussing this with you, @Velocity5. I have learned here on the Sift to just back away under certain circumstances.
This is a certain circumstance.
Have a nice night.
poolcleanersays...Race issues, meh. Let's talk about that blond bimbo that just sits there and adds nothing to the dialog. At least she's being seen and not heard. Thank god for the small things.
I'm just kidding. Man, I'm always kidding. Except when it comes to the police. Fuck those guys. Except women police. They're hot. Unless they're black. Then they're scary.
Black men, let's talk about black women. That's a double wammy.
@Velocity5: What do Asian and white parents think of that? (What I just said above.)
How about if you have both an Asian AND a white parent? And does it make a difference if it's an Asian mom and white dad versus a white mom and an Asian dad?
Do white women even marry Asian men?
Also, is the white parent Irish, Italian or Jewish? And is the Asian parent Korean or Malaysian? Because I don't think they count for your demographic. (Those are the scary whites and Asians.)
poolcleanersays...Also, Justice: Does it exist?

Velocity5says...Wow, I hadn't read a lot of that, like about Trayvon's autopsy report.
We all started on Trayvon's side because the initial journalism was just printing whatever his parents' lawyers told them to print, including photos of him as a 12 year-old.
But we had to change our positions once more facts came to light.
Thanks for the link
