twiddlessays...Just posted this and looked at the queue by newest queue date, and this clip is just above the two Mr. Deity clips by jimnms.
Sarzysays...Pitch Black was awesome. The Chronicles of Riddick, not so much...
budzossays...I agree Sarzy. Riddick is a cool character and I'd watch Riddick 3. I thought Pitch Black made some cool choices in the storytelling. Chronicles of Riddick on the other hand showed quite a few lame decisions by the filmmakers. I do like the visual style, and I'm sure I'll watch it again sometime, mainly because the surround sound on the DVD is pretty sweet.
rembarsays...What Riddick is referring to is a little twist on theodicy. His God is a vengeful god, apparently.
fdisksays...*nsfw for the last word.
messengersays...I think you mean idiocy, rembar.
loorissays...I can't understand it, a transcript please?
twiddlessays...Just so you know, this is fictional. This is not your God he is talking about, whatever religion you may happen to be. Nor does it represent my views or the views of this web site. And I suppose it can be hard to hear so here you go looris:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imam: I have already prayed with the others....It is painless.
Riddick: It's pointless.
Imam: Because you do not believe in God, does not mean God does not believe in you.
Riddick: Think someone can spend half their life in the slam with a horse bit in their mouth and not believe? Think he could start out in some liquor store trash bin with an umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and not believe? ... Got it all wrong, Holy Man. I absolutely believe in God. And I absolutely hate the fucker.
loorissays...thank you twiddles!!
