lantern53says...Too bad this bloke wasn't around when glaciers covered the midwest.
coolhundsays...A 10 year old had a similar idea 4 years ago. Simply plant trees.
Theres enough room to do so, but its only happening sporadically by some extreme ideologists - here and there a tree. The reason for that is nobody can make money from it. And since "climate change" is only about the money anyway, these solutions wont be considered.
Some blind ideologists still havent realized the logic behind this.
notarobotsays...@coolhand, What you suggested is being done around Beijing. They started before the '08 Olympics, and have plans to put in even more trees to combat the terrible air quality.
"The municipal government has announced that over the next three years it will plant 160, 000 acres of trees around the suburbs, a space which is 90 times larger than the Beijing Olympic Forest Park."
Sniper007says...If I didn't know better, it almost looks like the world is dreadfully underpopulated...
Or rather, the world is overpopulated by SimCity raised "master global planners" and underpopulated by sovereign farming families.
Check out Joel Salatin. He's been doing this stuff for generations. He cycles livestock grazing in much the same way. But not just cattle, he brings in chickens, rabbits, etc on the same land different days of the week.
bookfacesays...Wait. I'm confused. I've heard for a long time now that cattle and their methane farts are big contributors to climate change. I've heard that it's the burgers to blame. Is that not true anymore or does that only go for factory farms? Honestly, it's harder to keep up with the causes of climate change than it is the solutions.
