CaptainPlanet420says...Now to reach in there and find the shards. Does water help with that too?
joedirtsays...Is it controlled or just cracking off outer glass? It's pretty simple to score and snap.
You also cannot get s-curves this way, only outer edge curves. (ie. cut a notch out of the side)
conansays...please clean your sink.
Spoon_Gougesays...As someone who used to do stained glass for years, this looks like bullshit.
bamdrewsays...wtf! WTF! (head asplodes)
is it up to me to verify this, or does someone have some experience with this madness?
(edit: information here - http://www.spectrumglass.com/Library/ScoreArticles/NoFishStory.html )
krumzysays...Glass is harder(tougher) than metal, therefore metal cant even scratch glass, if you take your keys to a window you can scratch to your heart's content and it wont do anything unless there is some sort of plastic coating on the glass. It's very really basic material science, look it up if you don't believe me.
So what is he doing? Either cracking the glass, which is not the same as cutting, or just switching the pieces of glass underwater since you cant see the glass. Or its simply not a silica based material.
LePierresays...I'm guessing it's playing on the fact that applying heat and then cold to a material in quick succession will weaken it.
randomizesays...I think that one could (in theory) cut glass above water, but the noise would kill you, hence the water to dampen the sound.
Peroxidesays...Ummmm, randomize, what?...
Also, I wish this included videos of all the idiots who took some glass afterwards and busted it in their sink, because they sure as hell couldn't cut it. The lighter is just B.S. foolin the fools.
gorillamansays...Awesome comment from randomize.
Wingoguysays...Krumzy, Glass is harder than most metals, but that's on Moh's Scale of hardness, it has nothing to do with how "tough" something is. Toughness is the resistance of a material to fracture when under stress. Glass definitely loses out in that department.
Hardened steel, btw, is harder than glass.
