I think there are plenty of jobs out there, it's just that there are some shitty hiring practices out there where companies will say you need a college education for this job, when you really don't need one. Either because your standard college education these days is more about teaching you how to jump through a lot a hoops more than actual education or the job simply isn't that complicated.

With the exception of jobs in the hard sciences and in other situations, I don't think there are many jobs out there that really require a college education and could simply be taught through some sort of apprenticeship program.

requiring a college education is more about controlling who applies in the first place vs what is actually needed.

also, supply side economics is fucking us over. Let's keep giving money to people who create the supply but fuck over the people who create demand. The suppliers just sit on that extra money as there is no incentive to make more supply for a demand that hasn't changed.

if we made it easier on the lower/middle class, guess what, there is more of an incentive to buy things, buying things creates demand. demand...demands that the supply be increased to meet it.
