mlxsays...They're ok. My brother does 2 every year for our big family deal. I prefer roasted...besides, you've got to have the drippings for gravy.

mlxsays...We've had gravy conflict as well in our families. LOL. Mine's dark and thin, made from a roux...yours?
LadyBugsays...i guess you could say that i use a roux ... minus the butter! lol my roux comes in handy when i make baked mac & cheese though!
depending on the volume of my drippings, i usually add about 1c of water, salt, pepper, flour/water mixture, a dash of maggi, and depending on the dish ... i sometimes add a dash of gravy master for more color. i prefer my gravies more on the thicker side!
brnzsays...my wife is the gravy master - but its more like southern style chicken gravy - yum yum.
And leave to Alton to over do it on the 'turkey derrick' lol.
